Code: A shield engraved with a black hand looks better than a talon-crested kite shield. I've just noticed, I swapped these shields today for obvious reasons. Better quality, better material. Or so I thought.. With the talon shield I was shield blocking attacks constantly and had no problem with it in any stance. I have shield block mastered, and even switched to defensive to test it wasnt my stance now I noticed. But I have been using the better shield for an hour or so now and have not managed to block a single attack while using it. It still gives the AC boost like any shield does and I notice when I remove it during combat. But my character can't block anything with it. Is this specific to the shield, or maybe the shield is a higher quality level then my char so I can't use it effectively? Maybe just a buggy shield? ;( |

Size of the shield never even crossed my mind for some reason  Edit: Yup that did it. Never knew the size of the shield affected shield blocking that much. Good to know. |

Help files are amazing >[Skills help] shield block Automatic Shield block allows one skilled in it to attempt to block any physical attack with their shield. Of course, said player must be wearing a shield to perform this maneuver. It should be noted that even without this skill a person who wields a shield will be better protected from damage. Be aware that you need to be using a shield of the same size as yourself. |

I knew the size affected the ability to block. Not cancel it out completely though. Like I said, I didn't even think about the size of the shield. For some reason I just assumed it was the right size. My bad
