No, you couldn't read his back story while you were interacting with him. But coming to his afterlife and continuing to assert that his name was somehow inappropriate (instead of saying something like, "Oh, the name makes sense now.") indicates that you haven't read it now that it's available.

Inappropriate? I think the assertion was that the name was creepy, not inappropriate. I'd agree. The character concept had that sort of.. Rocky Horror kind of panache.

Regardless of your opinion of the panache, it was intentionally done. He doesn't need a language lesson.
