I remember that and it's a real shame because that could have been such an epic encounter. Instead Antiira just walked in and charmed my character, took him to Uxmal and murdered him. I had plenty of time to walk off in the middle of him casting charm but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, especially since our characters at that point had absolutely no dialogue what so ever.

My only peeve is that I was not given the dignity to roleplay my own demise. I cannot blame Edoras for his actions though because 99.99% of the MUD would have walked away in my position. Ever since then I just avoided Antiira on all my characters, unless he wanted to give them loot because the only impression I got from him was he was a winner with tiger blood and Adonis DNA, and that's just annoying.

And then you tried to flee and quaff word while he was casting charm. Oh, well, I guess your version of events does make you look cooler.

Yeah, and Laechlyn already -had- walked off in the middle of me casting charm multiple times just minutes before in Tlaxcala (when I was polymorphed as an elf and tried to lull him into trusting me with a little conversation) which is why I gave up trying to trick him and brought Waish the final time.

I thought it was a lame requirement for induction too, but given that I was working from the outside coming in I had no choice, and just resigned myself to a kill with very little loot taken. Given that it was also centered around my induction, I also didn't bother trying to defend myself because I didn't want to OOCly out myself as a crucie. As a result, a few people treated Antiira like a PK-hungry RP-less empty shell on account of bad OOC publicity. I had a bunch of people go crazy on me OOC when they got rightfully ganked by Antiira in his early years.

I'll point out that no one was given a similar task for induction once I was handing them out either.

I thought it was Estobar that got instaganked early in your career with all the fallout. Guess my memory is just bad.

I always enjoyed having Antiira as an enemy - never a dull moment. In fact I made a second lighty character almost entirely because he was singlehandedly skewing the balance.

The Crucible has sucked pretty bad since the 'first generation' of them deleted.

I don't see anything wrong with having a successful pvp be a requirement for induction. If a deep-elf sorc is unable to gank an unenchanted barbarian, then said deep-elf sorc would obviously not be worthy of your faction. Makes sense to me. In fact, I wish I had done something similar to this when I ran MC. There are so many players who level up fast and then talk a big game, but then fail to deliver when pvp comes. Having some requirement like this would have saved me the trouble of having lots of incompetents around me.

Really the only thing wrong with that whole situation was this:

I wish my life hadn't collapsed about the time I got inducted into the crucible, I wanted to learn more about them. Either way I was at such a disconnect with Dxex I just deleted her, Antiira and Syrina were about the only ones to miss her. Time to move on with life.

Personally, I am glad there are leaders that are willing to take inexperienced PvPers with RP that is cohesive with a faction and give them a chance. Thanks, Aust/Jaro.
