When I was leading a certain cabal a while ago I would uninduct people and PK them if I heard they lost a PK or were the reason for members losing a PK. It's all a matter of how much of a jerk the leader wants to be.

but mund's priest wasn't the reason they lost the PK. it was estobar. that's the point mund is trying to get across.

the counter to this, if you led an army and made a serious mistake that lost a battle, often times you would punish your subordinates.

jeckel is renown for never being able to take accountability for his own shortcomings and concocts elaborate theories of how nothing is his fault. Whether or not it was his fault is irrelevant in retrospect, what is relevant is that at the time Estobar/orac felt that it was his fault and felt a tarnishment was justified. Which is in no way ooc play, jeckel just wants to make sure everyone knows nothing is his fault.

The point is that when it comes to cabals and religions you're subjecting yourself to the scrutiny of those that are appointed above you. If that person thinks you messed up even if you didn't, you're still going to get punished.

If someone had tarnished me for losing a PK when it was really their fault and not mine, I'd have gathered support, killed them and staged a coup on the faction.

Unless it was Fist. Then I probably would have composed a poem on the ordeal or something.
