Kind of like Rokki, back in the day, whose "character concept" was randomly mode stun backstabbing people and stealing things he didn't want or need, just to see if he could. While people like that clearly exist in the spectrum of human psychology, as acutely evidenced by you, Trag, and the part of the mud you represent, that doesn't keep us from seeing your roleplay as the bound and gagged servant to your desire to go beat the crap out of things.

First off :(. Secondly, so what? Randomly robbing, mugging, murdering, insulting people is sub par, how? In a pvp based MUD? Why isn't systematic robbing, mugging, murdering and insulting sub par?

Anyway, the name of the game isn't to play your character, it's to criticize other characters, right? I'll never forget the whole Desicari, Elauriel OOC squabble. Pay less attention to other concepts and more to your own. Criticize the character ICly instead of the concept OOCly and get more play out of it. Or, you know, don't, because we all like to throw tantrums every now and then and call people out.

In closing, go Trag. Good kill. Found a higher level PC (mentorish? fair play!), probable enemy SLEEPING in a high traffic INN and killing them mercilessly. Good play, you would not have stuck to your concept if you had NOT gone for the kill.

This is an RP/PVP game. Man up folks.

I just think that it is more "bound-and-gag" NOT to do something because you are restricted by your want to not offend the other player. It's also strange to hear someone say, because you are exploring a character concept, you are that character concept in real life. So, if I am a lightie hammer mage of Dulrik in SK, that is me in real life?

...

Come on now... I know you know better. One of the beautiful things about SK is the ability to immerse yourself in a character that isn't anything like you. To call someone a backstabbing murderous bastard of a bully in RL because they have a character in a game that is, is nothing short of juvenile retardation.

That's a pretty immature excuse.

"I'm not responsible, my character did it!"

"I was wearing the mask, he wasn't my brother!"

I mean, come on.

I'm not making any excuses, that's exactly my point. I do take responsibility for what my characters do, I just don't feel any guilt about it, and neither should Trag.

I also fail to see how it is immature even if I DID say that. Take the game less seriously and quit being OCD about it. That would be the mature thing to do.

Once people are expecting things out of you for their game experience, doesn't that make it worse for you when you "have" to meet those expectations? Talk about robbing someone of their gaming experience.

People shouldn't expect anything out of you over a game.

If anything, I suppose I'm taking sentience too seriously, not the game. Some of us are humans before we are characters, and I suppose it might indeed be a bit much to expect anything out of a human. Who would have thought I would be put in my place for expecting decency and courtesy out of my fellow man... I can hear Hobbes now, chuckling out a nasty, brutish, and short, "I told you so!"

It sounds like you're one of the types who has little difficulty washing your hands of everything by using the fourth wall and roleplay atmosphere like some sort of tower shield. Tell me, are accolades just as ill-placed as this negative attention? Should we be rewarding paragon and hero titles to the server, instead of the clients? To the character, and not the player? I hear the sounds of someone who wants to only take positive things from the game while enjoying giving back negative things under the self-important pretense of roleplay. In other words, a common troll.

It's no big surprise that places catering to that kind of thinking don't even have active staff. The only thing that keeps communities like that alive is porn.

I wouldn't mind being robbed of my gaming experience when it is filled with ear-biting limp-wristed knuckle-dragging jackdaws. Just sayin'.

Basically then, what you are saying, is that you expect people to pass your standards in the SK world and if they don't adhere to those standards, they lack decency and courtesy as a human being based on character/character interaction standardization?

Also, you calling anyone a troll is just laughable. Look at the sheer amount of posts you have compared to mine in not even half the time.

"It isn't my job to explain my actions to you." Heard that one before, yeah?

But, to actually answer your question, no. I expect people to pass my standards in the entire universe and if they don't, they lack worthiness based on standardizations passed down to me through centuries of culture and innovation. How I respond depends on the circumstance and environment: in some instances, we are expected to accept those we find unacceptable, yet in others, we can take pride in doing so... and still in others, we can take up our righteous indignation and charge full speed towards the moral high ground.

Your lack of expression is by no means indication of anything about anyone other than yourself. That you connect such non sequitir things just leads me to consider sparing myself the pain of trying to communicate with you at all.

I attempted not to make any direct accusations of your character that weren't carefully qualified with supposition, but it seems you enjoy defending yourself through rebuttal more than even properly defending yourself and understanding where you are.

I don't know where this can possibly go next, so I'm not going to try to steer it anywhere.
