Code:
The deep elven woman before you appears very frail, her skin stretched
taught over her bones.  When she walks it is with a shuffling step, her
weight held mostly against the staff she carries.  Her hair is very long and
a mix of moonlight white and dark silver.  Eyes the color of deep sea
pearls remain with the exception that her pupils have taken on a bluish
tinge.  Although her body seems to be withering, her voice still carries
with that of a more youthful individual.  The soft scent of night-blooming
jasmine fills the air as she enters a room.

Above her heart a tattoo of a small black feather is delicately stitched over
a bloody wound.  The rest of what appears to be a rather large tattoo
extends over her left ribcage.

Here is her back story for those that did not know.

Quote:
Thyki was born and raised in Ch'zzrym. Belonging to one of the noble houses, they were not an overly powerful House, but held respect in their own right. She was the third daughter and fourth born child of the Matron. Being in such a position it was unlikely she would take over the house and showing some promise in using prayers to gain power she was sent to live with the priestesses in a temple dedicated to the lost goddess Yenko.

She believes she went to live with them when she was two decades old, maybe a bit older. The years in the deep had begun to meld together. Regardless, she spent further decades learning to calm her mind allowing herself to be more open to the divine and being a vessel for such power. The priestesses were not forgiving in their instruction and fault was not allowed. It was assumed she would follow in their stead caring for the temple continuing the worship of Yenko. While the time in the priestesses care was not an enjoyable one, she felt that without such an education, she would never know or understand the things she did in her lifetime. Having that experience as balance to others she was able to fully appreciate the friendships she made and the hardships that are necessary to endure for a whole being.

Many decades into her instruction she began having dreams unlike anything before. They began almost foggy, she sensed there was a struggle but could not discern who or where. Gradually, they became more and more vivid to the point where she felt she was actually experiencing the events rather than just dreaming of them. The dream was of the fall of her house. At the time it was very confusing for her, she did not understand the meaning, nor the reality of the situation.

Each house within the structure of Ch'zzrym relies on the balance within and without to maintain it. What she did not see at the time was that while she had been away the balance of her house had been disrupted. Her elder brother and eldest sister conspired to kill their mother, the Matron and take over the house and its power.

They succeeded in her murder, but unlike the Matron, they were unable to maintain the balance of the house within a great battle broke out among the servants and children loyal to her mother and those tranfixed by her elder siblings. Upon seeing the disruption of society the other houses steped in to destroy what was left of hers after the battles.

She was still unaware such events were actually happening, but after the house fell the dream changed. She saw a house built from playing cards, it swayed gently in a breeze. But one card in the middle would twitch slightly and bring the entire structure down.

But after seeing the visions and having this further dream, she knew she could not devote her soul to Yenko and care for a Temple beneath the earth. She felt she was meant to see the events as a lesson. The lesson being, the Weaver had a desire for her, for us all really. But she felt her purpose was to aid in maintaining the balance of the Tapestry. So she became devoted wholy to the Weaver to follow the Path She had set before her, and to do as Her will commands. She felt she had been directed to be a keeper of the Tapestry, a keeper of its balance. To maintain it and keep life from stagnation as her kin has done before.

She has never mentioned the true name of her house before (mainly due to the fact I never came up with one) and instead refers to it as the House of Fallen Cards in reference to the final vision she had.

The number of people I have to thank for making this character is simply immense and I know I am going to forget people so I apologize. It's late and I have played her for over three years now. I think I've played with almost everyone in the pbase. Characters that really impacted her in one way or another: Maraigh, Xorvithien, Cor'e'lieon, Yuni, Ralina, Lu, Tristala, Threndil, Methias, Tiadre, Caeserea (sp?), Xaaln, Nyoethai, Galrhin, Amithlen, Ealuriel, Ixcendia. Bah...I am giving up. Might as well list half the mud at this rate. Thanks in every possible way to both the Fold of Sadal for the past years and the Druids. Both of whom gave me innumerable opportunities for RP.

This has been a great ride. I have a ton of stories I rememeber and there are a ton I probably don't. So if anyone has stories of interactions with Thyki please share.

And one final time...Fair winds.

Wow. I can't believe Nosey died.

Nosephthyki was always fun with Ealuriel, and probably one of the few actual friends I'll say she had. Mostly because she knew Noseph wasn't a threat at all. And polymorphing into a sprite around her was always amusing.

I had lots of run-ins with her on all my various alts, ranging from half a dozens elves to other things, and always fun.

On a side note, I remember that finding out Nosephthyki was a Druid was probably the last /real/ IC wtf-moment I had on SK. I always thought she was a Harlequin.

Hope you stick around, good luck with life if not. :drunk:

Always had a ton of fun with Nosephthyki as Tyna. Far too many stories to recount any one specific instance that stands out above the rest, but it was always a pleasure to be around the character.

I don't even know what to say. This is my favorite, most respected long-lived character since Frollith. Nosephthyki was extremely impactful in both Faerti and Menkh's lives. Thank you for sharing her with us. I hope you can come back with another. Miss her already.

I also fought for her placement in the Druids as Faerti - that was a personal triumph of mine with Ralina, and when the house fell apart with Hanathena and Terrac, she never really quite knew where to stand. I remember after several years with her as an honorary member, some zealous Druid still wondered aloud if Nosephthyki was really a spy for the Harlequins due to her friendship with Maraigh. Faerti was so pissed about that.

My favorite story with Nosephthyki and Menkh is the tarot card RP we shared, but personally was when I let her take my place against Baba in the priest competition, seeing as she deserved it anyway. I got to see her many staves in action!

With Faerti, I enjoyed our many games and interactions with Maraigh, including the time we played dice with Marfik. Fountain RP doesn't have to be totally boring.

Here's to you - fair winds! :drunk:

I interacted with Nosephthyki on more characters than I can even remember: She was a solid presence in the game for a very long time, and I'm much impressed with her. I think enjoyed your interactions with Antiira the most, as we actually got do to a lot of interesting things together, even though they were generally unfruitful, heh.

Great character!

I had a bunch of interactions with various characters, but most memorable was dragging her out on a date in Ch'zzrym with Qovoq. Haha, good times.
