Adalwulf Von Struben was born the son of Count Sadus Von Struben, and Lady Elwyna of Sith a' Neil. Count Sadus was a violent and abusive alchoholic, who eventually drove Elwyna away. She left her one year old son behind, and returned to Ayamo. During this time Adalwulf was brutally abused, to include beatings, floggings. burns, and in one instance he was hanged. Supposedly he dangled for nearly fifteen minutes, kicking and jerking until a servant cut him down. When Adalwulf turned fourteen, Count Sadus decided he was going to cut off his son's ears, because they looked too Elven. As he closed in on the young Adalwulf, Adalwulf grappled him, and the two fell to the floor. Count Sadus fell on his own knife, and was critically injured. Adalwulf asttempted to get away, and in his hurry accidently knocked over an oil lantern. The fire quickly spread, and consumed the entire keep. Adalwulf fled the county, which abutted the Empire-Uxmaln border, and spent the next year searching for his mother. Eventually he found her in the tree city of Sith A' neil, on the upper level. Rather than welcome her lost child, she decried him as a product of evil, and told him that he would never be accepted. Adalwulf was incensed beyond reason by this unexpected attack, and he responded by shoving her over the guard rail, where she fell to her death. Shortly thereafter, Adalwulf learned that he had a half-brother. Having been accused of being irredeemably evil, he decided to show his mother what evil truly was. He buried Julian alive in his mother's grave; and then went to the Empire's Kytar University to become a Hellion. After an encounter with Naliama, he chose to become a follower of Algorab, and eventually also joined the Crucible of Shadows. He was long the favored knight of Fear, and eventually led both his faith, and his cabal. During his time leading the faith it grew in number and saw what was likely its largest growth. While he led the Crucible, the cabal was at its weakest, and he ensured the cabal's survival by ending almost all of the wars that they'd been involved in.
Eventually he lost control over the Crucible, and Algorab appointed another High Knight, though Adalwulf never lost his favored status, and Algorab did not disapprove of the older Knight. This caused some confusion as to who was meant to be in charge, until one day in Menegroth, a flock of Raven Shaped shadows descended upon Adalwulf, and then they all simply vanished.

This man has an appearance about him that is grim, and harsh. His
beautifully colored grey eyes are almost silver, but they hold a hardness
that speaks of long, and brutal experience in battle. Along their corners a small
web of wrinkles has begun to form, as well as along the corners of his mouth
His alabaster skin is marred by a few small scars that stand out against the
luminescence of his complexion. This luminescence together with his pointed,
and tapered ears reveal his Elven heritage. His face might be considered
handsome, even with the arrogant, and hateful expression etched across it.
His hair is short, cut in a fashion popular with Imperial soldiers, and is raven
black, with silver beginning to creep along his ears. Upon his left ring finger
he wears a signet ring that displays a double headed Vulture.
Beneath the Vulture is written "Demonstro Nullis Misercordia"
